Edible gifts: Danish butter cookies

Edible gifts are among my favourites for a last-minute gift idea. I was at a Tiger store recently (you probably know how much I love this shop with its fun and eclectic mix of products from this post) and chanced upon this little gem.

Not only is this adorable blue tin of Danish butter cookies perfect as a last minute edible gift, it is also perfect as a piece of a place gift idea. I’m always on the lookout for gifts that are representative of the place they come from and this edible gift of Danish butter cookies is a perfect little piece of Denmark.

This scrumptious edible gift has got all sorts of elements — like the Dannebrog (Danish flag), a Danish royal guard, a sausage dog and facts about Denmark — put together in a fun way.  The best element on this edible gift, of course, is the queen of Denmark holding a Danish butter cookie in her hand!

This is cute blue tin of Danish butter cookies is a cool edible gift for friends and family living outside Denmark. They will have this little piece of Denmark long after the cookies are eaten. Do you have an edible gift that’s like a piece of a place you live in currently?

  2. Now you have me craving Danish butter cookies! That’s a fun and funky tin.
There’s a chocolate shop here that makes chocolate old-school, right from scratch from the beans. There’s only ~30 that do it this way in North America. So I give that out at Christmas frequently.
